Anyone who is employed by an institution to service Middle East library materials in a professional capacity (selection, acquisition, cataloging, indexing, reference work, administration, and/or preparation of research tools), as well as any other person who has an interest in these aspects of Middle East library materials, is encouraged to join our Association.

The membership year begins at the time of the annual meeting of the Association and the annual membership fee is due thirty days before the annual meeting. Our annual dues are U.S. $30.00 and include a subscription to MELA Notes, published annually. The by-laws of the Association as amended delineate the responsibilities and opportunities for service of MELA members.

Dues for individual, institutional, and foreign members are U.S. $30.00 per year and run from November to November. For those who find it more convenient, it is possible to pay for more than one year in advance. Lifetime memberships are $600.00.
